Aligning skewed cut and sew pattern pieces for my animal face masks.

Sometimes with digital printing the grain of the fabric can get skewed. If you are working with digitally printed cut and sew pattern pieces that are created to be symmetrical, it can be very frustrating. Often times people will think that either the designer created the their illustrations wrong OR the the fabric printer made an error. When that happens, refunds are requested for “flawed” fabric. But, the designer designed it right and the process of printing just does this sometimes. So getting a replacement may not help. This is a problem that just happens sometimes with digital printing, its just the nature of the process which will (hopefully} improve as the technology gets better and better. It doesn’t matter which printer you order from, this happens. Designers often notice skewing the most when printing straight lines on fabric and some of the lines appear “wavy” in places.

The good news, it’s really easy to straighten up the grain of your fabric and get that surface design back into the proper shape.
